The ladies of Sex and the City are in their 40's and have babies and large bank accounts. The peeps of Friends are all grown up as well. So what's left to fill the young, broke, childless twenty/thirty-something-year-old void that was left in TV in the early millenium? Young Sloane Crosley may have the answer. HBO is developing its next series based on her book, "I Was Told There'd Be Cake," which is based on the foibles of a twenty-something gal in New York City. But the similarities to SATC stop there. "It's not about zany people with unlimited, inexplicable funds in an apartment somewhere," she said to LAT. Something tells me we'll be hearing a lot more about Sloane in the next few years.
