The new duo met up at The Ivy in Los Angeles, which is known to be the spot to be for stars who need a bit of publicity. No word on how the senator feels about this unlikely rendez vous, although we do remember when John and Heidi were singing each other's praises earlier this year, with McCain having said he had watched "a few episodes" of The Hills.
