News: Kutcher, Moore and Sheen Raise Funds For The Homeless On Saturday Night

060108-moore.jpg

Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore and Charlie Sheen stepped out Saturday night to raise funds for the homeless at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball. "We love it and really believe in it," Demi Moore said to reporters before the event. The event was filled to the brim with other stars as well, as Yahoo! reports:

Inside, the evening almost served as a "That '70s Show" reunion. Before dinner, Topher Grace stopped by Kutcher's table, just a few seats away from fellow former "'70s Show" co-star Mila Kunis. Kutcher and Grace were interrupted by 15-year-old singer Spensha Baker, who performed after Geffen Records chairman Ron Fair was honored. Baker was eager to meet the "What Happens in Vegas" star.

The casts of "Grey's Anatomy" and "Private Practice" were also out en masse to laud executive producer Mark Gordon during the ceremony, which was attended by over 800 people. Among them: Katherine Heigl, Kate Walsh, Tim Daly, Eric Dane, T.R. Knight and Justin Chambers, who has no idea what will ensue following his character Alex's steamy season finale kiss with Heigl's Izzie. [Yahoo! News]

News: Transformers, Sandler Clean Up On MTV Movie Awards

060208-sandler.jpg

Transformers took the biggest award of the night, best film, at the MTV Movie Awards, and Juno's Ellen Page took home best actress awards. Seth Rogen and James Franco perhaps received the most awkward moment of the night after a very strange 'pothead' skit, after which MTV cut the cameras away from them. Other highlights included host Mike Myers and Dana Carvey reprising their 'Wayne's World' characters one last time and Adam Sandler belting out a new song. [Yahoo!]

Celebrity Quote: James Franco at MTV Movie Awards

"MTV wrote the script and MTV provided the bag and I don't know what was in it."--James Franco on the 'potheads' skit at the MTV Movie Awards, after MTV cameras cut away during the performance.

Why the Franco/Rogen skit? Because of their upcoming film, Pineapple Express, which deals with, what else, potheads. Watch the trailer on Fancast.

News: Ashlee Simpson Postpones Tour

052308-wentz.jpg

Ashlee Simpson has postponed her tour in the wake of her impending pregnancy. "After careful consideration, Ashlee Simpson has decided to postpone her summer tour," said Simpson's rep. "She is committed to giving her fans the best show possible, and will be back better than ever and ready to rock in the future." Well, at least she's got a better excuse than Amy Winehouse, who has been postponing shows, running late and acting jittery all over the place for quite some time. And she has no excuse!

News: Sarah Jessica Parker Upset over Time Out NY Cover?

053008-sex.jpg

The Sex and the City gals have been plastered over magazine covers everywhere this month, as the Sex and the City film is out and kicking Indiana Jones's butt all over the place. But SJP and Sex writer Michael Patrick King wondered out loud on the last episode of Charlie Rose if there is an anti-female backlash taking place, as illustrated in this month's Time Out New York cover, which shows SJP and her co-stars with duct tape over their mouths.

"Is it really the movie that should shut up? Or should women shut up?" Michael asked. A preview of the clip after the jump. [Jezebel]

Fancast Interview: The Mole's Jon Kelley

060308-mole.jpg

The Mole is one part intrigue and one part physically demanding hellhole, and a new episode will attack your TV tonight on NBC. Fancast caught up with Jon Kelley, the host of The Mole, and he clued us in on the best strategy he thinks a contestant should have, the one thing he'd like to change about The Mole, and the biggest celebrity fan of The Mole: Jimmy Fallon. Don't miss tonight's season premiere, but first catch previews on Fancast.

What’s a piece of advice you have for a potential future contestant of The Mole?

Study the game, learn all you can, watch all the episodes. Figure out all the different approaches you see on the show. Watch what’s successful and then forget all of it. Once you get into the game, it changes immediately. That’s the beauty of this game. No mater what your game plan is coming in, I can promise you it will be blown up probably in the first half hour. But also learn to be observant, have a great memory, pay attention to detail, learn to be charismatic and very sleuth-like and learn to be a chameleon. I think that would help as well.

What would you do as a contestant?
I would just try to step back from it and observe and be very astute, watching the people play but not get too caught up in it. Because the beauty of the game is that even though the Mole is the saboteur and hired to jack things up for everyone, other players will throw missions to bring eyes on them to confused everybody else.

What’s the worst thing a contestant can do?

Let the game control them because its easy to emotionally get involved and then all of a sudden you get sidetracked and you’re worried about the wrong thing. The worst thing is loose control. Then everybody else has an advantage over you. Keep cool but also be very conniving.

News: Entertainment Tonight Stands By Their Angelina Jolie Twins Story

Jolie Baby

Did she or didn't she? The question of whether Angelina Jolie gave birth to twins or not seems to be on everyone's lips, after Entertainment Tonight broke the story earlier this week. Brad Pitt's rep soon denied it, but now producers of ET are refusing to retract the story until they get additional info. Turns out, People and US Weekly denied the story. Only time will tell who was correct. [Yahoo! News]

News: Cameron Diaz Schmoozes With Aniston's Ex

Cameron Diaz Paul Sculfor

Cameron Diaz is flirting it up with model Paul Sculfor, who just happens to be (gasp!) Jennifer Aniston's former boyfriend/date/man-candy/whatever. The maybe-couple were having dinner at Il Ristorante di Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica this past week and they "looked really flirty," said a source to People magazine. "She was laughing really loud at all of his jokes. It looked like a date." Which leads me to ask the question: Will Jennifer ever catch a break, or a good man? Also: Will Cameron ever stop dating half of Hollywood? [People]

Fancast Interview: Army Wives' Brigid Brannagh

060308-arm.jpg

Army Wives is full of intrigue, passion and men in army uniforms (!), as it follows a group of army wives living on a US Army Base and supporting their men at war. The season begins again this Sunday, June 8, on Lifetime, and who knows what the new episodes will bring? Brigid Brannagh, who plays Pamela Moran on the show, talked to Fancast about what it's like to portray this very special type of wife, what real life army wives think of the show and what fans can expect from the new season.

Check out a preview of the new season of Army Wives on Fancast.

Do you think a large part of your audience is made up of army families?
Oh yes, absolutely. From what I’ve heard a lot of the husbands are actually watching it to see what they’re wives lives are like.

What kind of feedback do you get from them?
Last year we got a lot of flack. Although they were very happy with the emotional content in the way we’re portraying it, I think they seemed to like the show enough last year that this year they’re starting to help us. They’re giving us whatever access we need so we can do stuff as accurate as possible.

Are there any plot events that were inspired by real life events?
Yes definitely. There’s a little boy asking an older woman on a date. It was a real-life moment…how kids are funny. There’s definitely a lot of true life things that I think go on.

Update: Tatum O'Neal Cites Death of Dog For Drug Purchase

tatum.jpg

Tatum O'Neal, who just a few days ago was busted for attempting to purchase crack cocaine, the grandaddy of all hard drugs, cited the death of her 16 year old dog as the event that sent her down the slippery slope of drug abuse. Again. "It triggered that my mother passed away [from addiction] in '98. My father [actor Ryan O'Neal] and I are estranged.'' She said to the New York Post, adding "Just when I was about to change that and wreck my life, the cops came and saved me. I was saved by the bell, by the guys in the Seventh Precinct." [EW]

Fancast Bio & Video: What Ever Happened to Baby Tatum O'Neal?

tatum o'neal drugs

What ever happened to Baby Tatum O'Neal? Her recent drug bust in NYC is not the first time this very talented child of famous parents has gotten into drug trouble. Unfortunately this latest event is only a notch in the bedpost of abuse and tragedy in the life of the actress. The abuse began early in life when her mother succumbed to drugs. "Beatings, hunger, neglect, sexual molestation, underage drinking, underage driving, car crashes, suicide attempts, and drugs virtually everywhere." she said in a 2004 interview with Dateline NBC. "My own young life had eerily echoed Addie's, [her character in ‘Paper Moon'] even though my mother was still alive. In the grip of addiction, she had virtually abandoned me and Griffin, leaving us in squalor -- starving, shoeless, and ragged, as well as beaten and abused by the men in her life."

When her mother could no longer take care of her and her brother, they were sent off to live with her father, Ryan O'Neal, legendary actor and also legendary womanizer with a horrible temper. Things went from bad to worse, particularly after young Tate was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in the film Paper Moon, where she shared the screen with her very jealous father. When news of the nomination hit home, she says, Ryan hit the 10 year old in the face. "There was always a slugging thing. Or a backhand, or throwing out of the car or whatever. It was a rough, just rough around the house."

A particularly glaring event happened during a European trip she took with her father and her friend at the time, Melanie Griffith (who was 18 at the time). "I thought she was my best friend. But there's an agenda that I'm not aware of, which is that they're going to sort of get together -- and I walk in on them and I end up trying to take my life in a very sort of severe way."

And that's when the drug use and the self-inflicted abuse began, leading Tatum into a life of hard drugs that lasted throughout her marriage to John McEnroe's and well into the millennium. "When you're treated badly, at least in my situation, I just didn't know any better then. When someone was hitting me, or hitting me and slapping me, or like sexually molesting me, it just seemed normal to continue to do that to myself."

Donna Summer is busy supporting her new album, Crayons. She's famous for songs like "Love To Love You Baby," but did you know she's a fan of Lilly Allen? Fancast caught up to the legendary singing siren to find out who else is on her iPod:

1. Rihanna - Umbrella
It’s a very cool idea and such a fun song, plus she’s very cute and classy.

2. Fergie - Big Girls Don’t Cry
An old title, new song……love it!

3. Christina Aguilera - Hurt and Beautiful
Both are great songs sung by a gifted singer.

4. Barbara Streisand – People

Update: Sarah Larson's Post George Clooney Life

Sarah Larson

After a highly publicized break-up with mega-star George Clooney, Sarah Larson seems to be moving on okay. As okay as you'd be after a breakup with one of the biggest stars in the world. "You just move forward. She's a strong, very smart girl who I think will make it through pretty much anything," said a source to People. Larson and Clooney split up last month, suspiciously soon after the former Vegas waitress was profiled on Harper's Bazaar where she suggested that she followed the band Phish around the country as a teenager, made $1,000 a night as a waitress (really?) and had a boyfriend when she first met Clooney. She joked about dressing Clooney in the article: "No fancy pouffy stuff on the pockets. I think getting him a pair of True Religion jeans would be a good joke: 'I really want you to wear this, and please put your hair in a fauxhawk.'" Could this be the interview that encouraged the break-up? Was she cast in an awkward light by the magazine? Or was it the suggestive photos that she posed for in 2007 at the height of her waitressing career? (Kind of/sort of NSFW images of Sarah after the jump) [People]

News: Nick Hogan Denied House Arrest

Nick Hogan's request to be given house arrest (he is 17 after all!) has been denied by a judge. His lawyer requested the change, citing that "This situation creates an unbearable anxiety for a minor in solitary confinement. This sort of confinement substantially amounts to cruel and unusual punishment for a juvenile and is not warranted for a non-violent first offender serving a probation sentence." [Star]

Fancast Party Patrol: Audrina Patridge, Emile Hirsch, Mischa Barton at Nylon/MySpace Party

Nicky Hilton MySpace Nylon Party Audrina Patridge

Cool young Hollywood stars like Nicky Hilton and Emile Hirsch turned up at the Nylon Magazine and MySpace School of Rock party last night to celebrate Nylon's music issue. Inside, the party was bumpin', with celebs playing the video game Rock Band and catching the tunes of Nylon darling, The Like.

Actors from both the TV and film spectrum were out in full force: Audrina Patridge, who didn't talk to too many reporters on the red carpet, went straight inside. We later caught her watching her scruffy companion (or was it her boyfriend?) getting a cut and a style at the hair salon booth. Emile Hirsch also strolled inside, hung out with friends and talked to the ladies, while Nicky Hilton seemed to like the fashion displays, but she was sans her sister, who had been scheduled to attend. Word on the street was that Mischa Barton was there with her rocker boyfriend, Taylor Locke, but she was hard to catch.

News: Gina Gershon Fighting Allegations She Had Affair With Former Prez

Gina Gershon

Actress Gina Gershon is mad as hell and she's not gonna take it anymore. She is fighting allegations by Vanity Fair that she had a torrid affair with former president and one-time possible First Husband, Bill Clinton and has asked the magazine to retract. The writer of the piece is Todd Purdum, whose wife is Clinton's former press secretary, and he says his source is "recent high-end Hollywood dinner party gossip" Gershon's lawyer disagrees, and states "The truth … is that Ms Gershon has only been in the same room as President Clinton on three occasions, during which she was always in the presence of anywhere from approximately a dozen people to several hundred or more." The actress may pursue defamation lawsuit. What we're still trying to figure out is what exactly "high-end gossip" really means? [UK Guardian]
