Charlie Wilson's War: A (quick) Talk with Tracy Phillips

Yahoo! brings us the story of Nabil Ayouch, a Moroccan director of the film "Whatever Lola Wants," a story about an American woman who belly dances through the Arab world. This makes us wonder if we'll be seeing more belly dancers in current films, particularly after having caught Tracy Phillip's performance in Charlie Wilson's War at the premiere on Monday. In the film, she belly dances for the freedom of the Afghani people.

Knowing Israel has a limitless stash of Soviet-made weapons (and the CIA may not supply U.S.-made weapons to the Afghans), Gust arranges an unthinkable deal between the Jewish state and Islamic Pakistan, a deal furthered when Charlie brings his own Texas belly dancer to perform for officials in Cairo.

And boy can the girl dance! You might also recognize Tracy from her standout role as Helena in the My Chemical Romance music video of the same name, which made her a favorite with scenester set (she has her own fanclub!), and appearances in videos for No Doubt and Goo Goo Dolls and in Bravo's Forty Deuce. On Monday she was decked out in a beautiful red gown, which highlighted her pretty auburn hair. We talked a little about her feelings about participating in the project, to which she added "This was an absolutely magical experience, working with this team. Everyone was genius, brilliant." We then went on to talk about what her favorite television shows are when she's not working. "Well, Sex and the City, because, what girl doesn't like the show! House, Dexter and Law and Order: Criminal Intent."

Watch for Tracy's sexy scene-stealing in the film Charlie Wilson's War when it opens December 21st.
